ALEX’S NOTEBOOK

Which poster size and frame should you choose?

The right size is the one that suits your spot and the way you look at the illustration. Measure the free space, try a paper template, then check the dimensions of the print and frame before ordering.

Which poster size and frame should you choose?

Measure the space you really have

Note the free width and height above the furniture or on the chosen wall. Leave room around switches and other objects. A frame takes up more space than the paper, so compare the frame’s outer dimensions with the available space.

Compare sizes with a template

Depending on the design, the catalogue includes prints of 18 × 24 cm, 21 × 29.7 cm (A4), 30 × 40 cm, 50 × 70 cm and 60 × 80 cm. Cut or tape together paper to the size you are considering and hold it up in place. Look at it up close, then from the doorway. For two posters, add up the width of both frames and the gap between them. A small size can sit alongside a shelf; a bolder size can become the focal point of a wall.

Check the frame, not just its name

Without a mount, the size the frame accepts must match the print dimensions. With a mount, also check the size of its opening: it must not hide an important part of the drawing. A frame’s outer dimensions alone do not tell you whether the poster will fit.

Choose the finish on the poster’s page

Available options are shown in the “Size & finish” selector of each piece. Compare the size and framing option before adding to cart. Some framed 50 × 70 cm options are marked “delivery in Marseille only”: read the chosen label carefully. Options vary between designs; a finish offered for one poster is not necessarily available for another.
